The Shamrock is created by Adelle Hickey, established Irish Designer, and owner, of Hearts of Ireland, a small, Dublin-based, crafter. Adelle uses practices that are founded directly in the hand-made and hand-crafted community and Irish craft industry.
Hearts of Ireland set out to celebrate Irish culture through the use of Celtic symbols to create a visual expression to capture the unique essence of Irish history and culture. The Shamrock is shaped by, incorporated into, emerge out of, or appear to be escaping the heart in its own unique way.

The symbol of the Shamrock is famous worldwide and is unique to Ireland's culture and tradition. Stories of the Shamrock originated with St Patrick. Saint Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to and using the symbol of the Shamrock as a teaching tool to explain the symbolism of the holy trinity.
It is estimated St Patrick lived and delivered his teachings in Ireland in the 5th century. St Patrick is remembered today by Irish, and Irish descendants all over the world on March 17. On that day, as part of the celebrations, wear shamrocks, the national flower of Ireland, in their lapels.
