John Hanly & Son Woollen Mills

Hanlys story started in 1893, when Denis Hanly and his son John set up a vertical woolen mill beside the Nenagh River in a disused flour mill in North Tipperary.

Local farmers sold their fleeces to the mill, where wool was spun and woven.  Today, Brian Hanly, the fourth generation of Hanlys, proudly holds the reins of the company.  The river is still the water turbine from which electricity is generated; all their energy is from renewable sources.  Hanlys use all-natural fibers as raw materials and all are sourced from renowned suppliers who produce and source their wool and cashmere in a sustainable and ethical manner.

Today, almost 130 years later, Hanly's unique weave and designs still hold their simple and timeless charm.  Whether it’s our luxurious bedroom collection or stylish throws, there’s always something new to discover.

Dingle Sea Salt

Dingle Sea Salt was born in 2021. Drawing on their background knowledge, Dingle Sea Salt has devised a low-carbon method to create a unique sea salt by harnessing the elements we are so familiar with through surfing.

Using the pristine Atlantic waters from the area, combined with the sun and wind, to produce sea salt in a way that is gentle on the environment.  Relying on the natural elements to craft their sea salt, a process led by the passing seasons

Dingle Sea Salt pays respects to the age-old tradition of making sea salt through solar evaporation, building on this to accommodate the West Kerry climate.  The elements drive our low-carbon, natural crystallization process, gently evaporating the seawater in custom-designed evaporation tunnels, leaving behind a mineral-rich and distinct-tasting sea salt.

Their process is unique in Ireland and requires no energy other than the sun’s rays and a plentiful West Kerry breeze. With each season, Dingle Sea Salt patiently perfected their craft, combining the natural elements with a little bit of science and a lot of trial and error.
